P.s. ( They were a hit! I will definitely be making more of these babies!)

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege to do an engagement photo session with my older brother and his lovely fiancee Julie!  What a great time we had wandering outside and snapping these sweet, happy moments! What a gorgeous place it was and the sun co-operated! Thank you Sun!

Since we are near my family at the moment we decided to have our  CELEBRATIONS EARLY!

This is what my Saturday looked like!

Lest we forget..

On Fridays, I usually share photos that I have taken recently, but today I thought I would share with you some photos that I took a while ago as I think they are very appropiate for today.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Sew Exciting!

SEW, I thought I would share with you this skirt that I made AGES ago, as in months. But I still love it, so I thought I would blog about it! What a satisfying feeling it is to finish a project and actually be proud of it! I Added the lace on the bottom because I was actually too lazy to hem it properly, but it definitely adds alot to the skirt! I just love this skirt, it matches with so many things I own and it's already wrinkly so I don't have to iron it! BONUS!

I'm SEW in love with it!

Sew, comments anyone??

Ten Things I am loving about Toronto

Today I thought I'd share some of the things I am loving about living in Toronto! For those of you who know me well, know that where I live in England is the furthest thing from city life!  So, I am definitely enjoying a change for a few months. Oh the joy!

1. I LOVE how everything is so close! A few times, I have just googled any kind of shop that I want and there is usually something somewhere within walkng distance that has what I am looking for!

2. I LOVE how awesome the lights look when it gets dark at night! STUNNING!!

3. I LOVE the fabric district!  A million stores with more fabric than any city could possibly need!!

4. I LOVE getting up in the morning and being able to just pick a brand new place to discover.  I have been to LOTS of places since I came here that I had never visited before, even when I lived in Canada! Exciting!

5. I LOVE that there is always something exciting to see. ie. Occupy TO protest, men getting arrested, sidewalk preachers, and celebrations in Yonge-Dundas square, etc.

6. I LOVE having starbucks whenever I want because there just happens to be 4 within a block of me. I LOVE it even though I am not supposed to have coffee!

7. I LOVE that I get lots of visitors here.

8. I LOVE looking out our windows and watching all the people scurry by and imagine little stories about them.

9. I LOVE being close enough to visit my parents and brothers on the weekends! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!

10. I LOVE that I am sharing all the fun with this cute man...

What are you loving today?

Wednesday's photography project was to head to Chinatown and get some shots there. What a buzzing and exciting place! It was so interesting to pop in all the little shops and look at all the weird and wonderful things. I got some ginseng candy for my dad (which he loves!), some oolong and ginseng tea and some delicious persimmons. There were so many different kinds of fruit there that I will definitely be going back again in the weeks to come to stock up our produce drawer!  The only challenge was that I was told by a couple of the Chinese shop owners that I wasn't allowed to take pictures, so that made my project interesting - shooting from the waist only. This made for some interesting shots...I don't know how perfect they are, but it was an interesting way to capture my surroundings for sure!
Here are a few from the day...
