Ruffle Love...

Although I have been busy for the past few weeks, I have managed to make a bit of time for a couple of small projects. One of them includes this scarf I've been knitting.

I bought the yarn for it at the Creativ Festival I went to last week and I absolutely love it!  Not only was it quick to knit up but I LOVE the ruffles and the lacey look!

I was planning on making it for a christmas gift, but, meh, sometimes being selfish feels good!

Terrific Tuesday..

This past Tuesday, I was so excited to get together with a dear friend of mine that I have known for years! We knew each other through a mutual friend in elementary school but it was not until we went to the same high school, that we became friends.
We were trying to figure out when the last time we got together was and came to the conclusion that it's been about a year and half, so we were definitely due a date.
How happy I was to see her!
Meet Laura and her sweet, darling little boy.

Laura is a wonderful wife, mother and a lovely and loyal friend.  I am privileged to know her.

Make new friends,
but keep the old.
One is silver,
the other is gold.

Howdy Again!

Hello my bloggy friends! Wow! I have definitely been enjoying a super-socialable week, one that has not left a lot of time for blogging or in fact, much breathing! But I sure do like it that-a-way!  Last HAS been dear little friend Angela arrived by subway. We spent the day discovering the downtown and chatting over a drink.

We even managed to take in a view of the Occupy protest in the financial district.

On wednesday, my dear mama came to visit and slept over until Friday.  As my mama is pretty much a super-sewer, we checked out the fabric district which isn't far from where we are staying.  I have never seen so much fabric!

Friday we had such an exciting day-we headed to Toronto's Creativ Festival. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take any pictures, but oh my goodness, seriously, if you ever get the chance to go, GO! It's a huge festival with booths of all sorts of differents crafts and projects.  There's demonstrations and even sessions where you can make something and then take it home with you! What fun! You can see what it's all about here.
Friday night, we headed to my parents to spend the weekend there. It's been so nice to see so much of my family lately.

Then on Sunday, my sweet hubby had arranged a little party at my mom and dads for my birthday! It was so nice to be together with a bunch of my friends to celebrate this year! We had lots of yummy food, played lots of fun party games and I got lots of exciting pressies! Oh, I'm spoiled!

Thank you everyone and especially-Thank you Hubby!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Vibrant and Vivacious Visitors

I have just had a deliciously delightful day with my cool cousin, the energetic and ever-entertaining Elizabeth and her heavenly, happy and hilarious daughter Hope! They arrived in the morning and we spent the day enjoying the park on our buildings rooftop garden, walking around and enjoying the trash and triumphs of downtown toronto and just generally enjoying each others crazy company.

What a delectable and delicious darling this child is! Scrumptious, sweet and sassy too...

Her 'Auntie' likes to cuddle the cute and kissable kid...

and her magnificent, marvelous, multi-talented mother ain't so bad either....

(This is revenge for a revolting scarf photo she previously posted of me on public domain....apparently, her ears catch cold quickly too)

So, have you absolutely adored my amazing and arresting alliteration?

Well, this past weekend we
were up to
our eyeballs
in fun!

We headed to Mom and Dad's Friday night to spend this holiday weekend with them.
Saturday morning, it was so nice just to sleep in and totally relax..something we haven't been able to do for a while because we've been busy getting ready to come to Toronto and then settling in once we did arrive!
Then in the afternoon we went to a fruit farm in St. Jacobs and then to supper at the famous crossroads restaurant - SCRUMMY!

Sunday we spent catching up with lots of friends and family...

and then MONDAY we went on a hike with some people from church.

Wow! What a gorgeous day for it!

We walked a little ways with everyone and then when my hubby couldn't go any further in his wheelchair we turned back, went back to Mom and Dads and then headed to some dear friends for our official Thanksgiving dinner. Whoa...I ate alot of turkey and am totally ham-ed out today! It was SCRUMP-DIDDLY-OCIOUS!

Besides that, I would just like to say:

I am THANKFUL for
  my health,
  my hubs,
 my fam,

and the fact that I get to spend lots of time with my friends over the next little while.

What are you THANKFUL for??

Well, we are here in Canada! This morning I am sipping on this...

While enjoying the view from our wall to wall windows....

It seems like weeks since we left England, we've been so busy settling in!
Michael started his position on Monday and  loves the people he works with so far and the place! His office has a view of the lake and the CN Tower and all of the skyscrapers, which he loves and tells me about everyday!!! We moved on Tuesday and that wasn't such a great day! We got to the building, got our key and when we came upstairs to move in, the people were still in our apartment when they were supposed to leave Monday night! We also got a parking ticket for parking in the wrong spot and when the people finally left, the apartment was FILTHY! I guess they normally clean them but we came a few days earlier than they normally let people move so they didn't this time! It was so gross I am not ashamed to admit, I was having a fit on the floor!!
My dear, dear dad and uncle brought a couch and a bed and table Tuesday night so then I felt better! I had spent four hours cleaning the bathroom (seriously, who pees on their walls?) and bedroom that afternoon so when that was completed, I felt so much better and even excited!! Its surreal that we are going to be living here for two months!
I have since cleaned the rest of the apartment so I am happier and am appreciating the views, which are awesome from our living room and bedroom ! Did I mention we have wall to wall windows?! And the whole apartment is very spacious!
I am definitely going to enjoy this experience, here in TORONTO. I haven't had time to go out and discover my neighbourhood much yet, but I do have eight weeks to go.....

Yippee YAY!!!
