There is a gift shop close by where I live that sells the most beautiful jewellry and scarves. Unfortunately, although beautiful, everything is a little out of my price range. So, a few weeks ago I went there, did my drooling and then came home and tried to come up with my own version of a couple necklaces that I saw. Here they are in all their glory:)

Today I thought I would take you on a little tour of my town. Well, not really my town, because where we live isn't in town. But this is the closest town to where we live. It's called Matlock and is where I go to the library, do all my shopping and also just go to have a break sometimes - it's just a cute place!

This is where you can find me quite often-oh, say if I have any paperwork to do or even if I'm just absorbed in a good book and want a small skinny latte to accompany it...

Usually after my coffee, I head here just for a little scroll. This park is directly across the street and is just kept so beckons.

This beautiful clock stands in the middle of the park, in the middle of town, reminding everyone we are all controlled by the same thing..time.

Through my town there runs this river....Isn't it beautiful? Especially with my favourite view from town- the castle on the nearby hill.

Hope you enjoyed your little tour?

Simple Sunday...

Oh, how I love the simple things in life..

especially when I get to share
'em with this man..

A walk on the wild side..

Hello Lovelies! Hope you are having a good weekend! It is a LONG one here in 'ole yesterday we embarked on a beautiful 10 mile 'stroll' on a track we had wanted to go to for a while because we heard it would be perfect for Mr. G's wheelchair! And what we heard was right... it was perfect! And in such a beautiful place!

Yes, this is what I wore on my feet because we didn't know we would be going 10 miles when we started...needless to say, my feet are hurting a little today...

So, here is a little corner of my kitchen. Can you guess what lies behind that white door?

That's right? This is my fridge...this tiny, little spot hidden under my counter is where all our perishable food items are stored.  This is one of the things that was a HUGE change when I came to Britain. Most people that I've met just have half-sized fridges. With this comes frustration, mostly when you have company and are trying to cram alot in there. There is a definite shop-MORE culture here, so on a positive note I find food is generally fresher, which is a good thing.

Don't worry! Right after I took the picture above, this is what my counter looked like.. to find the space in there...

Hope this gives you a chuckle too..

There is a little coffee shop about a 5 minute drive from my house that Michael and I frequent. As in the lady who works there knows my order off by heart. It has the cutest name - The Chocolate Tree! They sell all sorts of handmade chocolates, desserts and delicious Java! It's has a lovely atmosphere and they play old fashioned music that just adds to the charm of the place. We love our dates there, so I thought I'd share The Chocolate Tree with you! Please ignore the bad quality photos...I didn't take them with my normal camera.

Here is the delightful display of handmade choccy's...

and our coffee's..

which are so much yummier when accompanied by these babies..
