Remembering 2011

This year has just been so full, I hardly know where to start !
If I shared everything, you would definitely be having reading, photo and bloggy overload so I will just hit the highlights!
There were so many more memorable moments I cannot share them all, but just know that I have loved 2011 and if 2012 is anything like it,
oh, I await with bated breath!

Early in the year, we had LOTS of visitors from Canada...

This lovely lady, my friend (and soon to be sis-in-law) graced us with her presence in FEBRUARY. We went on lots of adventures..

and just a week after her departure, my cousin arrived with her little family. I got to meet her daughter, Hope for the first and I just wanted to keep her here FOREVER! What a scrumptious little baby!

The end of march was quite uneventful, except for a visit to the zoo with some friends of ours to see creatures like this fellow and a few of his friends....

Spring arrived and with it, my two cousins, Grace and Esther. We discovered the touristy spots in this area together and had lots of laughs...

For the most of MAY, we were gone. Hubby had to go to NYC for his research work so of course I tagged along (just to be supportive, of course!).  We did find some time for sightseeing...

and then after the big city, hopped on a train and headed to Canada for a little vacation. I loved seeing my folks and loved that Michael got to come with me finally (we hadn't been there together since our wedding).

I then returned to Canada again alone in July to photograph the wedding of a girl I went to school with..

and managed some rest and relaxation with the fam...

In August we attended an event I had been longing to go to for years! A 40's weekend where the whole place is a representation of that decade.

I also enjoyed my first Penny Farthing interesting British experience.

On September 19th my Hubby turned 30!! Wowsers! and we celebrated with a day trip to the seaside!

October 1st, I found myself on an airplane once again. We arrived in Canada and this time, it was for two whole months. You can find out why, here.

It was Awesome to have the time to discover the city I grew up near, but never took the time to enjoy before.

I got to spend LOTS of time with family and had the opportunity to take some engagement photos of my brother and soon to be sis-in-law.

We even had Christmas in November with my side of the family! SO happy we got to that this year! I have missed it!

And just after arriving back home in good 'ole England, we got the good news that my baby brother and his lovely lass will tie the knot soon, as well!!

Aren't they cute??

Throughout the year, I also made it my goal to make time to do alot more crafting!

Here are a few of my favourite projects from the past 12 months.

These tiles I made for Christmas gifts..

This book page wreath that now adorns my entryway wall,

this nautical style handbag...

My floral Summer skirt.

And my ruffle scarf and teal cowl...

Dear 2012,

Please be as productive and delightful as your
rival, 2011.

I will be ever so Grateful.

Yours Truly,

Mrs. G

Winter Knits..

Can anyone tell me what is more cozy in the winter than some cozy knitted delights?
Yeah, didn't think so.
When I was in Canada my brother bought me a set of knitting looms for my Christmas in November gift and it's only been the past week or so that I've really got down to using them!
My evenings have looked like this..

and have produced these...

as well as this cowl for myself...

I love teal and I've always thought these scarfs look so cozy.

Um, yup, I was pretty much right!!

Happy Friday Y'all!!

Wedding Bells...

Hello Everyone! I am having serious issues getting back into the swing of blogging since I've been back from Toronto, so do forgive me! Everyday I come on the computer with hope of having something exciting to share but nope, NADA! I still have TONS of things to share with you all about the Canada trip, but I am still in the process of going through all my photos and weeding out the ones I want to keep and the ones that I don't need using up space on my computer!  Anyhow, while I am on the topic of photos, I thought I would finally share with you a few photos from the wedding I did in September!  What a BEAUTIFUL wedding it was ...I kept talking about it for days afterwards- It had such a nice atmosphere..

The groom arriving at the church..

 The beautiful Bride..

This is my favourite from the day...the groom watching his bride come to him...

The flowers were stunning and I loved the colours!

At the reception there was harp music..amazing!

And are these cakes adorable or are they ADORABLE?
